a little ditty written for the Clickers club. Written on Wednesday, recorded on Thursday, fine tuned on Friday... that's enough fussing over this one :)
wanted to write a quick song with radio as the theme and this came out. kinda nostalgic. pretty bare-bones right now to get it out the door by the weekend.
I can’t wait to go turn on the radio
Remembering what it’s like
Hoping for my favorite song
They might play it once tonight
A music lover sitting underneath the cover
With a transistor at my ear
I feel a brand new sensation
With every sound I hear
Station to station
Just can’t get enough
Groovy situation
If the signal don’t break up
If you gotta laugh, laugh just a little
But not like the Beau Brummels meant
Sounds good in theory and better in stereo
Almost like it’s Heaven sent
I try 1180 on the dial of the radio
Ready for another hit
And if you really listen
You may find that it is just like
Waking up on Christmas morning
With every song they play
Crackle, static… sounds good anyway
Rosko, Murray the K, Alan Freed,
Cousin Brucie or Wolfman Jack
If I can tune in one of them
I might never wanna come back
A little bitty pretty one, it’s down to nitty, gritty
When the Summer in the City is on
Sounds good in theory and better in stereo
As long as there’s another song
Well I’ve been listening and tuning in
Almost all night long
I think I’m getting tired
But I can make it for one more song
So try 1180 on the dial of the radio
I talked me into staying up
I really can’t wait to hear the next song playing
Just can’t turn it off
It’s the only way to go
Turn on the radio
I never can get enough
Sounds good in theory and better in stereo
I’m gonna wanna turn it up
Just a music lover sitting underneath the cover
Like a long, long time ago
Another good vibration
Coming in on the radio
