Story behind the song
Bostons smash hit, More Than A Feeling takes me back to my early days in high school. I was too shy to ask out the most beautiful girl I knew. Her name wasn't Mary Ann, it was Julie. We'd later become life long friends in the end, tho I always wanted more. None-the-less, when I close my eyes I can still see her walking away. With a feeling of regret, I just wanted to know at least I could sound half as good as Boston. The 12 string didn't let me down, the Marshall was warm and the strings sent shivers down my spine as they vibrate. I know one kiss from her would do the same. Yet here I am, holding a guitar instead of her, turns out not so bad I guess. Since I've loved a few and they are long gone, like the sun too when I start my day. I put on my music. I think of a girl I once knew, who is now a woman. I still dream about her. Hoping one day I'll awake and she is lying with me... and the sun is rising in the distance.
