Recorded 2019.
I have used three of my older experimental electronic works and combined them together to create dense sound structure. Title is a homage to Francis Bacon "New Atlantis", published in 1627:
"We have also sound-houses, where we practice and demonstrate all sounds and their generation. We have harmonies, which you have not, of quarter-sounds and lesser slides of sounds. Divers instruments of music likewise to you unknown, some sweeter than any you have, together with bells and rings that are dainty and sweet. We represent small sounds as great and deep, likewise great sounds extenuate and sharp; we make divers tremblings and warblings of sounds, which in their original are entire."
The first material is work "Virtual Music 01/97" made by two stereo layers of live improvisation on the rare revolutionary polyphonic physical modeling synthesizer Yamaha VP1. I have recorded them in Hamburg in September 1997.
The second material is from the work "Virtual music 01/98", it is combined with the first one from the beginning until 4:50. Additive harmonic synthesizer Kawai K5000W was used exclusively. Again it is a live improvisation in four stereo tracks, recorded on the eight-track minidisk recorder Yamaha MD8. Recorded in 1998.
The third material is a work "Orbis Fictus" recorded in 1996, combined with previous material from 3:31 to 9:59. This work recalls associations with Comenius' work Orbis pictus, but its contents reminds more his "Labyrinth of the world, paradise of the heart". Based on the improvisation with pre-selected electronic sounds in the synthesizer Yamaha SY99, directly recorded in real time into the onboard sequencer. Image of chaos, or slow movement through the space and time. One track uses harmonic series. Almost Bach choral-like harmonic progressions near the end symbolize a harmony, peace, relax and catharsis after the long trip through the complexity and chaos of the world. Let's find a paradise inside our hearts and minds
