A gentle folk love song from the folk club days (1970) featurig Roger Brawn on lead guitar
Early summer at Cambridge 1970; lazy days (pre or post exams?) with Sheila coming up by train every other week. At the club the instrumental break was filled by Ralph Simpsons flute. In the version a mid 70s attempt at recording on Roger Brawns bit two headed reel to reel tape recorder it features Rogers tasty lead guitar (and me pumping away on my fold-up harmonium). The analogue overdub quality so the early picking got lost down in the mix digitised here with new guitar and a little vocal uplift. Sounded easy except the tempo wobbled a bit and the harmonium was half a tone or so sharp...
The trees of green and light reflecting
Shine on and Im expecting you to come through
I see your form among the faces
In several different places but where are you
How time flows slowly in the sunlight
The empty sky is like a pool
My eyes of envy follow birds flight
Im thinking that shes never late as a rule
